Groups
For the time being there is a number of groups you can join: SCD–beginners, SCD–advanced, Ladies’ Step solo dancing and two more groups, which will start off as soon as we have enough people – Ceilidh class and SCD younger group for children aged from 10 to 14.
SCD–beginners
This group is for people who want to learn some Scottish dancing or simply try something new. What will you do in this class? You will learn steps and main formations progressing from easy to difficult. We will teach you Scottish dancing etiquette and will try to occasionally provide you some facts about Scotland itself. But what is most important, you will come to enjoy these dances from your very first time.

SCD–advanced
In the advanced group we will keep improving our skills, learning new formations – this time much more sophisticated – and simply dancing.
Ladies’ Step solo dancing
Ladies’ Step is a traditional women’s solo dance. It is distinguished by soft and smooth movements (unlike Highland dancing, which was traditionally danced by men only). However, in our times the traditions have blended and dancers from all over the world choose what they like most.
Ceilidh.
We build up this group for those who like dancing in bars and pubs, at festivals and concerts of Celtic music. We will learn and dance easy, mostly couple, but nevertheless interesting Scottish dances.
SCD younger group – for children and their parents
Would you like your kid to find himself a new exciting hobby, make some more friends, develop emotionally and physically? Scottish dancing will do better than any training groups.
Would you like to have more common interests? It’s easy to achieve. Study each in your group and meet at dancing parties.

Dance clothing and footwear.
Dance clothing should be first of all comfortable. You can wear sport clothes, skirt, kilt, briefs, but better choose one thing at a time. :) In any case your dance clothing shouldn’t:
Ŕ. Hinder your movements. You can feel really upset, once your tight jeans won’t let you enjoy the warming up. :)
Á. B. Hide your feet (first of all it concerns long skirts and dresses). The teacher should be able to see your foot position without preliminary manipulations with your clothes.
Clothing for special occasions should be festive. :) Women usually wear dresses or a kilted skirt/long skirt plus a blouse. They can also pin a traditional tartan scarf (sash) to the shoulder. Men wear a kilt/breeches and a shirt.

Dance footwear. Now, this is the most important part of your dancing equipment. Your shoes should let your footstep bow; thus, you’d better get either ordinary soft shoes or ghillies.
You can buy soft shoes at any dance equipment shop and you can order ghillies from us.
